Being an expert.
It's something I've crossed into a lot these past few years and it's sometimes the most annoying fucking thing I've ever run into. The world is full of shit talkers who feel that if they've been into something long 'enough' they are experts and anything anyone else says contrary to their point is wrong.
I'm by no means an expert but, I'm not new to a lot of things either. One of the oddest things about knowing people who 'think' they know everything there is and that some of them really get off on bragging about it....a lot.
Sometimes there is the rare chance that I meet someone who isn't full of his own fucking ego that he's willing to just talk to someone and not give them a serman. It's refreshing to see such a thing like that considering humility seems to be in short supply.
I've been playing Videogames since 1979 when I 1st fell in love with arcade games. I knew a few guys who would spend hours playing TANK, ASTROIDS or any other classic title of that time and became DAMN good. Back then you didn't see very many braggers and there were few to none out there.
As time progressed over the years Videogames as a whole fell and rose to what the current market is now. Competition is at an all time high with many guys wanting a name for themsleves out there to prove their skills in whatever game was popular. One of the cooler things to me is that out of all the games out there, Street Fighter to this day has remained #1 in competition.
Players from all over the world meet and strangly enough there are very few braggers & shit-talkers there than anywhere else. One day I hope to see the rest of the Videogame world enjoy such levels of play without any 'experts' unzipping their flys and letting the scrubs out there suck on the cock of knowledge that is their's just so the guy can 'nut' a wisdom of truth into their eye.
Some people have called me a Game Expert, SNK Expert & Garou:Mark of the Wolves Expert. I've always told people that I'm not an expert but just a gamer who knows what he likes.
What should it matter tho what I like considering not everyone has the same tastes? If some people wouldn't ask such questions and just either explore or find out the answers for themselves, I'm sure a lot of experts would look really stupid by people who just took the time to find more answers than the 'experts' did.
I'm not sure why I ranted about this but, I think it had to do with a guy named FTL @ www.neo-geo.com who bragged he was an expert of the SNK Neo*Geo system yet didn't prove it when somebody called him out about his expertise. I don't care for shit-talkers anymore than I have to and to be honest some people just fling it too much.
Just play the fucking games and quit talking shit.
Is it that hard to do?
