Community College Sucks

So now that I've completed my first semester of Community College, I thought I'd write a bit about it and share it why you all.

I didn't really know what to expect from College, but the first week or so was great. There was an arcade that has MvsC2 and Soul Calibur 2, there were more hot women that I had ever seen in my life, and I could go as I pleased. Then it turned to shit. I do not particularly enjoy the whole college experience because it feels too much like high school v2.0.

I realized there are 4 types of people who attend Palomar College. Note that a single person can belong to one or more of the following stereotypes:
The regular person
Fucking morons
The 40-year-old trying to get his/her life together
Oriental exchange students

The regular person
This is the person that shows up to class, does his/her work, doesn't act like an ass, and is usually easy to get along with. There are a good amount of these types, and I am thankful for that.
Best place to find: the arcade, sitting in back of a lecture hall or classroom.

The fucking moron
There are a lot of these types as well. They're generally either making smartassed remarks about things they shouldn't or making stupid comments about anything. They talk when a professor is in the middle of a lecture (loudly) and make asses out of themselves. They are never right, do not do any assignments, and work at fast food joints. They range from semi-normal looking to downright ugly.
Best place to find: in the food court, student union, or in the front of the class trying to make a poorly backed point. Avoid at all costs.

The 40-year old
You'll notice these ones because, well, they're fucking old. They should not be hanging out with college students much less be one. Although they mean good, their pathetic attempts to fit in fail miserably. But they make good lab partners, as they are eager to get all the work done in order to get a certificate/degree and make good impressions upon others who are young enough to be their grandchildren. Not as bad as the Morons, but keeping your distance as well as class schedule free from their hands is a good idea.
Best place to find: Upfront in lecture halls, the library, lurking around campus with overloaded backpacks.

The Oriental Exchange Student
I have no fucking clue. I see these guys from time to time while walking about campus and I am mystified as to why they are here. Why come to California for a second-rate education when you could've stayed in your native island chain and gotten one there? It is bizarre. Bizzaro, in fact.
Best place to find: in the ESL (English-Second Language) classes, random spots around campus.

People who attend Palomar also do not know how to drive or park. There are 3 main parking lots on the perimeter of the school. All of them are full by 1pm on Monday-Thursday, and on Friday barely anyone attends class (except for me). I usually park in the upper lot and I dare not touch the immense west lot, as there are far too many morons parking their H2s, SUVs, and beat up Pintos there. It is not unusual for someone to cut you off at one of the junction points or to blow past stop signs where others are crossing the road.

For some unknown reason, people are really anal about parking spots. One day some random asshole pulls up behind me as I sit in my truck after class listening to the radio while I finish up an assignment before heading to class:

Asshole: Hey, you leaving?
Me: No.
Asshole: Well why the hell not? Why the hell are you sitting in your car?
Me: None of your fucking business, dick.
Asshole: Fucking leave already! I don't have time for this!
Me: FIND ANOTHER FUCKING SPOT! Go park in the back!
Asshole: Fuck you, you're stupid!
Me: You're the one that bought an H2!
Asshole exits.

Sometimes I just don't get it. When I got back from class I looked for his H2, as a nail that just happened to be in my truck wanted to have a dinner date with his tires, but I had no such luck.

To sum up: I can't wait till I can transfer to a UC or Art school. Spring 2005 cannot come soon enough.
